I was tasked to combine, research and interpret two words for this brief. One word was a feeling, and the other was a necessity. The point of this brief was to experiment what the different implications of these two words can be. Thus, leading to the development of an innovative and experimental piece of design that communicates a message in some way.
I chose the words "sleep" and guilt". After various design thinking exercises, I showcased these two things as a book. The book is meant for procrastinators, overthinkers, perfectionists, and worriers. In general, anyone experiencing stress is having trouble falling asleep. The guilt and worry of all the things an individual needs to do cause an immense amount of stress. The elevated cortisol level caused by stress prohibits you from falling asleep.
This book contains various exercises to combat this. In addition, completing before sleeping encourages you not to use your phone, an additional factor which prevents sleep. These exercises include journaling, breathing exercises, visualization, and illustrations that you can colour in.
